Artist's Statement

As an Abstract Expressionist painter, my goal is to express visually through the use of color and texture that which is not always described in words. Landscapes have been the major subject matter of my paintings for the past 20 years. Most of the paintings are unplanned. After the paint touches the canvas, the process begins. As the magic of color, texture and intuition blend, a composition emerges. Sometimes this process takes a long time to achieve; at other times it happens quickly. Living part-time in the Northern Catskills inspires me as an artist because of its natural beauty and vast wilderness.
